Tonight's Inject Creativity Live Chat-Show and Deeper Dive event was another fun, thought provoking evening, filled with great conversation about how education and personal fulfilment are not mutually exclusive, and how new tools can give students the opportunity to express themselves in a wide variety of ways. Tim, Jerry and I were joined by Kesh Chinia from Queensland and Peter Hutton from Victoria. If you missed the live Chat Show, the recording is embedded below.
The conversation and demonstrations were so great that we ran a bit overtime tonight, which was well worth it (plus I had my dinner early ;) !). If you are interested in anything that was covered tonight, my Adobe Spark Summary page from this evening is below:
Tonight's Deeper Dive with Peter resonated with me powerfully, particularly with some of the comments placed in the chat around attitudes towards different kinds of learning, the prioritisation of a specific kind of numeracy, and the detrimental results it can have on a student and their learning experiences.
Kesh's presentation was delightful in showing that his 'assessment' with his students not only enabled them to engage with his area of expertise, but also allowed the flexibility for students to create tools relating to their own interests (or study for 'other' subjects) while creating solutions for their needs and focus with the wonderful technical tool of Adobe XD. Students could expand their skills and understanding in Graphic and app design while simultaneously create content that was meaningful to them, and I really appreciate that application. It inspired me.

This week has been a busy one for me. Not only am I catching up on reading for my studies, working through the feedback from my delivery last fortnight, and making up time from a day off, I also FINALLY got my act together and completed the Creativity for All course from the Adobe Education Exchange, earning my official badge for Level 1!
Some really inspirational and creative educators are out there. I so enjoyed looking through the submissions, and seeing all the different ways people approached the same task.
This evening Tim, Jerry and I were joined by Tanya Moran from Victoria and Mark Christie from the Northern Territory. Tanya shared with us her timely work upgrading resources and licensing that only slightly preceded the COVID-19 lockdowns, and Mark shared the rescoping of the Northern Territory holiday to celebrate creativity in schools from across his state. See below for the livestream from our Chat Show.
See below my linked Adobe Spark Page summary for tonight's broadcast. It contains notes for both Tanya and Mark's presentations, as well as a range of links to Character Animator resources that Mark has curated from creative educators across this space.
I was moved to tears by one of the submissions that won in the Territory Day presentation - links to the site are below.
I am going to leave you with a couple of things.
First, my submission for my Creativity for All course is below. If you haven't already, sign up - it is free to join, and my submission was created using Adobe Spark Post - accessible to anyone, for free... all you need is an Adobe ID (also free!). If you haven't had enough of me after that, check out my teasers on Twitter for Inject Creativity Live... created in Spark!
To check out the recording from the live chat show via StreamYard, see below!
Joining Tim, Jerry and me tonight was Mike Turner and Paul McClean. Mike and Paul both shared their skills and thoughts in how creativity can be shared in the classroom, but they did this in very different ways.
Tonight I really felt I learned a lot during Mike's presentation. Using InDesign to a fuller potential is a gap in my skills I am very aware of, and I was inspired to try more. I just have to balance out experimenting with something new with keeping up with what is already on my plate first. Can't use Adobe as an excuse to procrastinate!
