Tonight was all about video and student creation. Tim, Jerry and I were joined by Joel Aarons during the Live show, with Andrew On Yi Lai joining us via a pre-recorded session with Tim as he has other commitments this evening.
They both shared videos from different ends of the educational spectrum. Joel shared videos from students just starting out (which were adorable), and Andrew shared videos from student submissions for their grade 12 HSC.
This session really confirmed my belief that there is no limit to the diversity in creativity that students show, even when using identical tools. Thoughts, approaches, personality - it all comes through the medium of video. I really appreciated the insight provided into how these students think and approached their projects. From the funny to the moving, there was a great display of developing skill which I really appreciated.

My day job includes designing, developing, writing, copy editing, creating and delivering training resources for staff and students (including video capture/editing and voice over/other post-production work for multi-modal resources). In my spare time, I like to take pretty pictures.
