Next, Brett joined us and led a LIVE collaborative teacher-learner experience with suggestions based around the concept of sunrise and using various poetic devices. It was fabulous - check out my summary below, and watch the recording from the 29:20 mark (or linked below in my Spark Page/above in this post).
Next, Paul presented his thoughts about the limiting effects of timetabling in schools, and shared some articles he has posted to the Adobe Education Exchange. He is asking for collaboration, so the links have been added to my Spark summary below. Reflection: What did I learn from this episode? There is always space for creativity in learning and under pressure. I had no idea that Brett was going to ask for participation during his segment in the show; I had thought that I would be able to quietly work on my Spark Page summary and take notes in the background while he shared. I was pleasantly surprised by how easily some suggestions came to me. This made me immediately grateful for all of the recreational reading I had done in school and beyond. His choice of theme (sunrise) brought to mind the "rosy-fingered dawns" of Homer, and I was transported back to a simpler, younger time, where I had more space to be creative than adult life often allows. I was very grateful for this exercise - it brought back a lot of wonderful memories of exploring other worlds - thank you Brett!
